Boise Dr. Provides Support For Our Troops

If you are an active duty service person or a veteran there are two bills that you should get behind this year. The first bill is a bill in the House of Representatives introduced by Representative Bob Filner, [D-CA].  The bill “Chiropractic Care Available to All Veterans Act,” is very similar but not the same as Senate Bill 1204 “Chiropractic Care Available to All Veterans Act of 2009”. The Senate version introduced by Sen. Patty Murray [D-WA] simply states:

“To amend the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Programs Enhancement Act of 2001 to require the provision of chiropractic care and services to veterans at all Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers, and for other purposes.”

Both bills however, would enable our Veteran care centers to offer what Consumers Reports describes as the best treatment for your aching back.  The current treatment that our veterans get is also rated in the same May 2009 article, which finds that Medical treatment is the worst treatment available.

In fact research has found that by giving pain killers to a patient, actually sets the patient’s pain threshold lower.  Thereby, doing nothing for these veterans, which would not be acceptable, is better than the treatment that they receive from their MD’s at VA. Our troops, our freedom fighters, deserve the best.

In order to heighten awareness of the bill H.R. 1017 and S. 1204 there is one Doctor in Boise doing something about it.  Until these bill pass Dr. Hold of Boise will be offering complimentary treatment for active duty personal and substantial discounts to all veterans.  Dr. Hold who is a former Marine himself says that it is his way of showing support for our troops.
